La Palma is one of the Canary islands, laying claim to being the “world’s steepest island”, on the basis that it has the highest peak for an island of its area. This view is within the main national park around the Caldera de Taburiente, reached on a rather treacherous mountain road. Note the canary islands pine trees. We were lucky with beautiful weather
