Berlin, December 2011. In Berlin, there is a museum of the GDR, the former East Germany. The museum is really great, very hands on, lots to look at. For example you can feel the difference in East German and West German denim, experience being interrogated by the Stasi, and sit in a genuine Trabi. Additionally there is a "GDR restaurant". This was the starter that my wife and I shared. A raw pork patty (Hackfleisch), served with a raw egg, and a really very excellent collection of pickles. It turns out they clearly have good standards of hygiene, since I wasn't unwell!!
