Llyn Mair - Near Tan-y-Bwlch station in Snowdonia, on an unusually beautiful day (15 October 2011). This lake was built by a local quarry owner (Oakeley of Plas Tan-y-Bwlch) because he thought the location looked wrong without a lake, and allegedly as a 21st birthday present for his daughter, Mair.

My first strawberry (with a second sneaking out too!). From a box containing various herbs, this is a wild Alpine strawberry. I might even eat it at some point!

Sunset over the Atlantic ocean. As seen from the west coast of North Uist. This is one of the westernmost inhabited parts of the British Isles. St Kilda (now essentially deserted, except for some MoD staff), lies to the North West. This was a winter sunset scene in late February 2011.

A house sparrow at rest in my back garden. Having just moved to a more rural location, I am enjoying the chance to take some more photos of the local wildlife!

I finally popped the question to my beloved. This is the ring - a 0.5ct, E, VVS round cut diamond in a white-gold band! We're very excited about what the future will hold!

I spotted this very proud fellow strutting up a down a beach in the Caribbean in March 2008. Certainly not what I expected to see on a beach!

On a lovely walk in North Wales, May 2010. Looking down towards a lake, near Beddgelert. The boat-house always makes me think of Swallows and Amazons, even though I know that it's set in Cumbria, rather than in Wales!
