Of course, everyone believes that the children’s TV when they were growing up was the best. When I was growing up, this was true though! Playschool, with its visits “through the round window” etc, was fun, educational, (oooh – oxford comma there) and must see viewing for any self-respecting 5-year-old in the 1980s. Its successors, Playbus/days and Tellytubbies were just not up to scratch.

On one particularly day, the kids on Playschool all went to the seaside, and clearly the done thing was to go on the pier, and then look through the cracks to the sea. This is what I’m doing above. My parents just couldn’t take me to the seaside without this happening!!
